Our Mission
We make better candles. That means great scents, clean design, and using the purest, most sustainable materials possible. And each candle you buy supports the distribution of solar lamps to communities in need.
Candles made better
Pure, sustainable, simple
We started Keap to make better candles. We make them all at our studio in Brooklyn, New York. Here's how we put the "better" into our candles.
Pure
Fine fragrance
Scent is at the heart of our candles.
We work with legendary master perfumer Christophe Laudamiel to create well-balanced fragrances that brilliantly capture the world's most evocative scents. We stay away from sweet, cloying scents.

Coconut wax
We sourced coconut wax to make our candles better. Sustainably produced, clean and slow-burning, it's the clear choice over cheaper, toxic alternatives. It comes in big, creamy blocks.
We’re working to develop a new blend where we source the oils and waxes directly from farms so we can better monitor the sustainability of our sourcing.
Clean burn
Candle wicks have been lead free since 2003, and we go a step further using metal-free cotton wicks for a clean, pure burn that create less soot and fumes.
Simple
Minimal, reusable
Many candles are overtly branded, so we designed a clean aesthetic to fit any space.
We designed our candleholders to be easy to repurpose—we use no adhesives so the labels and wicks are easy to remove. For tips on cleaning out your candle, visit KeapBK.com/Reuse.
Clear choices
While learning about the candle industry, we found that many aspects were opaque—from how candles are made to why they cost what they do.
We are transparent in everything we do. From how we make our candles, updates to our process, to what's in them. Keep an eye on our blog for more.
Fair prices
The benefits of making and selling our candles ourselves extends beyond the quality of the materials we use.
It allows us to produce a better candle, offer more convenient ways of buying it, while simultaneously cutting out the fees of traditional manufacturer and retailer markups. Result: Better candles, better prices.
